WINK News - Homegrown nonprofit reaches out to SWFL neighbors in need!
NAPLES, Fla. - Project Outreach started at the end of 2009, and right now, the Naples-based non-profit has more than 1,000 followers on Facebook and anywhere between 15-60 volunteers at its various charity events.
According to Project Outreach's officers, their goal is to provide awareness on the needs of the community and teach youth the selflessness of serving. The nonprofit helps local families get the help they need, serves Thanksgiving dinners at the Immokalee Friendship House, visits nursing homes at Christmas time, and sends donations of medical supplies to orphanages and clinics in Haiti.
All these service projects are done without any paid employees and strictly with volunteer time.
Right now, Project Outreach is accepting items like cribs, high chairs, baby clothes, furniture.
